Wayanad tribal rehab scheme a big failure, says report

A report of the tribal rehabilitation development mission (TRDM), after a field verification into the rehabilitation of the extremely vulnerablePaniyaandKattunaykkasections of tribespeople inWayanaddistrict, said that the rehabilitation mission was a total failure and it blatantly violated all the rights of the tribespeople that the law assures them, including forcing them to move out of their traditional dwellings.

The report also points out that several families filed complaints with the Wayanad district collector that they were forcibly made to sign the Consent form for rehabilitation. Since no arrangements were made for their livelihood, including farming, cattle rearing or collecting forest produce, many of the rehabilitated ones have gone back to Kurichyad, the field inspection found.

Modis Atmanirbhar Bharat to attain Energy Independence by 2047

The Kashmir Files Wins Best Film Award at Dadasaheb Film Festival 2023

The film The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has been shortlisted at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2023.

There were several big personalities who attended the event such as Rekha, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan, Varun Dhawan and media staff, ministers, etc.

The Film of the Year 2023 award was honoured for the RRR movie, directed by S. S. Rajamouli.

ASI Approves Archaeological Excavations at 31 Sites

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) recently shared a list of sites which include the Gulf of Kutch, Gujarat and the Gomti River in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Excavations are to be performed in 31 sites in total. Several sites are 16 in number and universities are also mentioned on the list. It comprises excavation projects in Pratima Garh and surrounding areas and Vembakottai in Tamil Nadu.

This is going to be undertaken by the respective state governments. One of the regions selected for the mission is Harwan in Srinagar, J&K. This area is an important part of Buddhist HISTORY as it is believed that the 4th Buddhist council was held here in the 1st or 2nd century CE.

India and Singapore initiate UPI-PayNow linkage

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Singapore PM Lee Hsien have launched the linkage of UPI and PayNow, their fast payment methods

In a virtual meeting, the Prime Ministers of both countries agree upon a joint venture to provide cross-border transactions.
