Ease of living index (EoLI) and municipal performance index (MPI) 2019
The ministry of housing and urban affairs have launched the ease of living index (EoLI) and municipal performance index (MPI) 2019_to help assess the progress made in cities through various initiatives and empower them to use evidence to plan, implement and monitor their performance.
Ease of living index is aimed at providing a holistic view of Indian cities – beginning from the services provided by local bodies, the effectiveness of the administration, the outcomes generated through these services in terms of the liveability within cities and, finally, the citizen perception of these outcomes.

National conference on e-governance
the 23rd edition of the two day annual National Conference on e-Governance in Mumbai focussed on improving delivery of public services by promoting use of digital platforms.
Health, Agriculture, Education and Land are the priority sectors identified for Public Digital Platforms and also successful e-Governance solutions that use emerging technologies like Blockchain, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence were taken up for discussion.

Light Utility Helicopter gets initial op clearance
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) received the Initial Operational Clearance (IOC) for its Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) paving the way for its production.
LUH is a single engine, light weight, highly agile three-tonne utility helicopter indigenously designed & developed to meet the operational requirements of Indian Army & IAF.
LUH will soon replace the ageing fleet of Cheetah and Chetak helicopters.

India-Central Asia Business Council launched in New Delhi
India would host the second India Central Asia Dialogue this year, which would include Afghanistan along with five central Asian countries.
Central government and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) together launched India-Central Asia Business Council.
Apart from developing trade via the Chabahar port in Iran, India would like to explore setting up “air corridors” between India and five Central Asian nations
The Council will also share its recommendations on how to promote business in the region and with each other.
the lack of land route connectivity between India and Central Asia due to hostile relationship with Pakistan and instability in Afghanistan, remains a major hurdle. It has delayed the much-awaited Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
