CM opened biotech lab at Life Sciences Park

TheKerala State Industrial Development Corporation(KSIDC) which carried out the construction has completed 80,000 sq feet for the new building. The building will house 16 labs for biosafety, of which eight have been completed. The remaining eight labs are expected to complete in 2023-24 financial year. With the completion of this project, the Life Science Park will house 22 labs for various disciplines. It will also have facilities to detect over 80 viral diseases.

The park is being set up in two phases. For the first phase development 75 acres have been found for the project of which 70 acres have been acquired by KSIDC. For the second phase 1,123 acres of land will be acquired. Land will be given to entrepreneurs who are interested in setting up their units for medical research.

IIT-I collaborates with NASA to develop low cost camera setu.

IIT Indore, in PARTNERSHIP with NASA-Caltech and the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, has designed an inexpensive camera setup that can capture multispectral images of four chemical species in a flame using a single DSLR camera. Previously, capturing such images required a complicated system with four cameras, but this new setup can simultaneously capture multiple spectral three-dimensional images of four chemical species in a flame using only one DSLR camera.

After almost three years of research, a team of five researchers collaborated with the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and NASA-Caltech in the USA to create the CL-Flam, a low-cost DSLR camera device. The device was developed at a cost of approximately Rs 50,000

Asian Wrestling Championships 2023: Aman Sehrawat wins Indias 1st Gold Medal

Aman Sehrawat, a freestyle wrestler, won Indias 1st gold medal, under the mens 57kg freestyle category, at the Asian Wrestling Championships 2023. 36th edition of Asian Wrestling Championships was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 9 April to 14 April 2023

India to chair Commonwealth group on reform of financial architecture

During the Commonwealth Finance Ministers High-Level Working Group Meeting held in Washington D.C., finance ministers from several Commonwealth nations have urged for a comprehensive overhaul of the global financial architecture to improve the availability of development financing for countries that are vulnerable

They have also agreed to appoint India as the chair and Nigeria as the deputy chair of the Finance Ministers Working Group for a Commonwealth Call for Reform of the Global Financial Architecture. The ministers joint demand for reforms reflects their shared commitment to addressing the needs of developing countries and promoting global economic stability

HDFC Bank Signs $300 Million Credit Agreement with Export-Import Bank of Korea

HDFC Bank, the leading private sector bank in India, has signed a Master Inter Bank Credit Agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea, with a total value of US $300 million. The signing ceremony took place in GIFT City, Gujarat, and aims to help HDFC Bank raise foreign currency funds, which will be used to support Korea-related businesses

The credit line will be utilized by HDFC Bank for the funding requirements of companies with participation by Korean firms, companies having business relationships with Korean companies, and consumers who wish to purchase cars manufactured by Korea-related companies

India-EU trade pact to promote economic ties: CII

The potential signing of a between India and the European Union is seen as a positive step towards promoting economic ties between the two regions. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has emphasized the benefits of such an agreement, which could serve as a Catalyst for enhancing the India-EU relationship

It is important to note that negotiations for a free trade agreement between India and the EU have been ongoing for several years, with both sides seeking to address various issues related to market access and Intellectual Property Rights. Syria Becomes Biggest Narco-State in the World

It came to Light that Syrias earnings are largely from Captagon hence it is now the largest narco-state in the world.

A narco-state is one whose economy and income depend on the trading of illegitimate drugs.

Captagon is a dangerous alternative to amphetamine and is considered an illegal drug at a global level. The cost of this drug is not much however with bribing and Corruption, the range increases up to USD 14-20.
